Erica Komisar — Houses of Parliament
This past Monday, Mothers at Home Matter was invited to listen to leading psychoanalyst, parent coach and author, Erica Komisar, talk about her latest book at the Houses of Parliament and hosted by Baroness Philipa Stroud
Chicken Little the Sky isn’t falling: Raising Resilient Adolescents in the new age of Anxiety
We are asking children to handle more but giving less. The first three years of life are crucial for building the emotional resilience needed for later life. The adolescent years are another crucial period where our children need us. Never before has so much been demanded of our children in terms of academic performance, social media demands, peer pressure, life achievement, with a lack of positive prospects – high housing costs, hundreds of applicants for every job, war, turmoil, high University debts. We need to review how we care for our teens.
As usual, I must offer my thanks to Baroness Philipa Stroud of @LegatumInst for her incredible support over the years as well as my sincere appreciation for @Civitas_UK's Frank Young for co-hosting the event! pic.twitter.com/INRrf3cWVf
