Our Community.

Do you want to meet with other local mums? In need of a chat or friendship?

Connect with others who share similar values about the importance of motherhood.

Join your local group!

Each group has a life of its own, responding to the needs of the local members. Some groups meet regularly on Zoom, some meet for playdates at the park, for a walk in the woods, or meet at a pub in the evening for some child-free chat! Many of our groups catch up between meet ups by using WhatsApp or Facebook groups.

Anyone is welcome to join our groups, you don’t necessarily have to be a stay at home mum. If you’re passionate about caring for your children and share the Mothers at Home Matter values and ethos, please do come and join one of our groups! You also don’t have to be a MAHM member although we think there are lots of perks for this and it’s only £12.50 a year! Read more about that here.

Meeting other stay at home mothers has made me feel more capable and confident that what I’m doing is the right thing.

A MAHM Local Group enjoying an evening out.

It’s so nice to meet likeminded mums with similar values, who understand the joys and difficulties of being a mum at home. I love that there are mums with different aged children, some are at the same stage as you, some you can learn from who have been there before! Giving up work can sometimes mean you lose a group of people you had something in common with, now I’ve found some new “colleagues”!

If there’s no group local and you’re interested in starting a group in your local area please do get in touch with Becca and Lauren on groups@mothersathomematter.com as we’d love to hear from you.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done anything like this before, or even if your children are now grown up. We will support you in setting up a group and finding local members.

Other Support.

Maternal mental health.

Mothers at Home Matter recognise that the transition to motherhood, whilst it brings joy and fulfilment, can also bring great challenges, doubt, loneliness and emotional difficulties.

Newsletters.

Our members look forward to recieving a bi-annual newsletter to read during a rare moment of quiet! You can find back issues here online too.

Giving up my career?

Mothers at Home Matter recognise that the decision to transition from paid work to unpaid caring is challenging, financially risky and thought of as foolish by many. We’ve partnered with CareerBreakPeople to see how we can support mothers during this period.

Events.

Mothers At Home Matter holds an annual conference each November, along with online courses for mothers throughout the year. Details of current events that we are running or supporting can be found here.
